I am wondering what would be useful certificates for an Industrial Engineering major. Based on your experience, are they any that employers especially liked?

    Hi Saranya,

I haven’t had specific certificates that employers like, but highlighting data analytics tools has been useful for me.

For example employers really liked that I am comfortable using Minitab. If you would like to learn minitab ISYE 575 teaches it really well. I believe they offer the course online!

Another useful thing that our school offered(s) is the 6 sigma green belt. I have met people who go back to get the certification later to advance their careers in continuous improvement and quality!

I see that our school’s Six Sigma green belt was already mentioned.  This is probably the most convenient certificate to get.  Otherwise, there is the APICS certification which is supply chain focused.  The only thing to not is that this is much more involved than the green belt and will cost a decent chunk of money.
